Experience Russian River Glamping at Wildhaven Sonoma
The terms "California Wine Country" and "unplugging" aren't typically closely associated. But Wildhaven Sonoma seeks to change that — and does one heck of a job. Located directly on the Russian River in the heart of Wine Country, Wildhaven Sonoma is just over an hour north of San Francisco but feels worlds away.
Wildhaven Sonoma offers authentic Russian River glamping in large safari-style tents. While the tents have electricity and other modern comforts, the entire Wildhaven experience is designed to provide a respite from the hustle and bustle of life in the Bay Area. Does stargazing, s'mores, hammock naps, and playing in the river — all within minutes of some of the world's best wineries — sound like your kind of glamping? You're in the right place.
Escape big-city stress with Russian River glamping
Nestled on 10 densely forested riverfront acres, Wildhaven Sonoma immediately invites guests to connect with nature once they arrive. Walking through the property of this gorgeous Russian River glamping site, you'll notice all the ways Wildhaven Sonoma encourages guests to spend time together outdoors: the large covered front porches, fire pits, community outdoor kitchen, large deck and picnic tables outside the general store, the shared grassy spaces overlooking the river.
When you're ready for a bit of privacy, retreat to your one- or two-bed tent cabin. This part of California enjoys incredibly temperate weather year-round, but in the event that a cold or warm front does move in, Wildhaven Sonoma's got you covered with heaters and fans.
There are also lights, wi-fi, and plenty of places to charge your devices inside. While the tents do not have their own bathrooms, there are sparkling clean cabin-style central bathrooms and showers just a short walk away. And if you just need a quick rinse after swimming in the river, use the fun outdoor showers!
Enjoy your very own hammock and fire pit just steps outside your tent's front porch. You're welcome to cook dinner over the open fire (and roasting s'mores is a must, of course!), but if you'd prefer, there's also a covered community outdoor kitchen with BBQ grills and dishwashing stations. If you forget an ingredient or just want to add something to your meal, check out the well-stocked general store. In addition to staples like firewood and ice, the incredibly well-curated selection of goodies includes local wine and beer, cheeses, meats, and other picnic essentials. Hey, when in Wine Country...
Russian River glamping close to Wine Country + much more
One of Wildhaven Sonoma's biggest assets is its location. Aside from being directly on the river, it's minutes from downtown Healdsburg and enjoys easy access to literally hundreds of world-class wineries and restaurants. The coast is also less than an hour away.
If you don't want to leave the property, though, we don't blame you! And good news: there's a ton to keep you occupied onsite while you're experiencing Russian River glamping. There are easy, family-friendly hiking and biking trails all around Wildhaven Sonoma, plus several places to go horseback riding. Of course, there's also the Russian River itself, with infinite opportunities to enjoy the water. Fish, go tubing or kayaking, jump in the secluded swimming hole, or simply soak up the sun on the completely private beach!
However you envision Russian River glamping, Wildhaven Sonoma is the perfect place to experience it. There are also large outdoor areas for intimate weddings, elopements, or other special events. The best part is, this is just the beginning for Wildhaven — at least two more locations are in the works, including near spectacular Yosemite National Park!
