"Basecamp 550 is a glampground for the modern gypsy, weekend jetsetter or outdoor adventure seeker looking for a comfortable and convenient place to enjoy the San Juan Mountains. Nothing too fancy here, just providing comfortable unique stays for guests to share with their friends and family! Basecamp 550 is transitioning from an old campground into an eclectic glamping destination at the gateway of the San Juan Mountains." - Basecamp 550

‘glamping is likely to satisfy any city slicker seeking a little refuge in nature—without foregoing any of life's luxuries’

Glamping Tents: Basecamp 550 hosts five magnificent glamping tents that include a queen pillow top bed, electricity, mini fridge/microwave, and a fireplace heater. These tents are available year round! It’s less than a minutes walk to the community bath house with hot showers, the camp canteen with bbq grilles and a large sink for washing any dishes. Q & A with Basecamp 550 Host, Cameron

GYG: How long has this campground been in business?

Cameron: This campground was formerly known as Weber's RV Park & Campground and it's been Basecamp 550 for five years now.

GYG: Would you say this is a glampground?

Cameron: Absolutely, we do everything we can to allow our guests to disconnect in nature without missing out on the luxuries of home or traditional accommodations.

GYG: How did you all decide on your interior design style?

Cameron: To be truthful, that was all our owner, Heather! She has an eclectic bohemian style and she carries it out well throughout each rental.

GYG: How long does a glamping tent take to set-up?

Cameron: Once the deck is built, the entire set-up and room décor takes no longer than a day!

GYG: Would you say that adding these glamping structures has benefited your business?

Cameron: Definitely, our glamping tents are in high demand all year long. We rent them for up to $120 per night depending on the busy season.

GYG: What kind of tent is this?

Cameron: This is a wall tent by Davis Tent with an awning added.

GYG: How did you become a camp host here?

Cameron: Outdoor Hospitality is my passion and for the past five years I have been working and traveling in the industry. I am gaining great experience and knowledge in all areas of a campground from electrical to sewage. Soon I will know how to do it all for a glampground of my own one day!

GYG: YASSSS, girl!!!! #glampgroundgoals

Tiny Homes: These tiny homes range from 250-399 square feet. You will not miss any luxuries of home or a hotel here. Honestly, this is WAY BETTER! Rent one of these to rest & relax after a day on the trails!
